TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Toyota Wellspring Education Fund provided funds for a healthcare course available for high school juniors and seniors in Lee, Pontotoc and Union counties.

Toyota, along with the CREATE Foundation, North Mississippi Medical Center and Northeast Community College, partnered together to make the healthcare career course a reality.

Each semester, twenty students can enroll in the course.

Officials say the online course includes job shadowing and gives students a knowledge base of healthcare careers.

The Mississippi Department of Education says the course is offered as part of the dual enrollment program and high school and Northeast Community College credit will be available for students.

The course will be available beginning in the 2015 school calendar year.
