TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — Volunteers for the Girl Scouts in North Mississippi were at the Williams Transfer and Storage Warehouse early Monday morning to sort cookies.

Thousands of boxes of Girl Scout cookies arrived from Louisville, Kentucky.

Around 2,000 cases of cookies have been distributed to the troops in Lee County.

The hard part was getting the cookies sorted after they have been unloaded, so that's where many able hands came in to help with the task.

"Enthusiasm and a willingness to work, and we got some great volunteers. We have the same few that help every year, so they're committed for the girls. They do it for the girls," said Anita Ambrose, product sales manager.

For people who have not placed an order in advance, you will be able to purchase Girl Scout cookies later this week when booth sales are held across north Mississippi.
