ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- The former manager of the North Lee Water Association has been sentenced after pleading guilty to a federal charge of falsifying water samples.

Dan Durham, 66, was sentenced to three years probation, 100 hours of community service and ordered to pay $5,900 in resitution during a hearing in U. S. District Court in Aberdeen Thursday.

The water district was required to provide samples from wells across the association to the Mississippi State Department of Health for testing.

The federal charge accuses Durham of having the sample drawn from one well, but submitted as being taken system wide.

Durham pleaded guilty in December.
