TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A $4,000 grant is going to the Tupelo's Boys & Girls Clubs for the SMART Moves program Monday.
The organization was approved for a $2,000 Future Visions reimbursement grant from Rotary District 6800 Rotary Foundation, which will be matched by a $2,000 grant from the Tupelo Rotary Club to support the Haven Acres and Northside SMART Moves Program.
The SMART Moves program focuses on conflict resolution, drug and alcohol use and other issues children encounter to teach them how to handle these situations in a productive manner.
Over 2,000 kids are reached through the organization each year through clubhouse locations in New Albany, Oxford, Ripley and Tupelo.
Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi has served the area since 1996.
