TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA)-- It's never too late to give a welcome home celebration to war veterans.
Thursday night in Tupelo, the American Legion Post 49 honored Vietnam War veterans with a night of dinner and fellowship.
Although the war officially ended several years ago, many soldiers feel Vietnam vets did not receive the recognition they deserved for serving the country.
"I'm old enough to remember how the Vietnam veterans were treated when they came home. Tonight, it's all about welcoming our Vietnam War veterans home. This is the welcome home they never got."
