Voting underway in Lamar County Alabama sheriff's race

SULLIGENT, Ala. (WTVA) -- Voters across Alabama are going to the polls today to settle some party primary runoffs.

The biggest race locally is in Lamar County where the winner of the Democratic primary will become the next sheriff.

Two deputies, Marty Gottwald and Hal Allred, are running for the job.

The polls close at 7 p.m.
