OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- An attempt to serve an arrest warrant sends Oxford Police officers on a wild ride.
According to investigators, on Saturday, November 16, officers went to the Walmart parking lot to serve Margaret Waters, 48, an arrest warrant for contempt of court.
Authorities say when officers arrived, Waters fled the scene in an automobile, driving recklessly on Jackson Avenue.
Investigators say Waters did not stop for police sirens and flashing blue lights.
The pursuit was stopped because Oxford Police say Waters drove into a dangerous situation that put innocent people in danger.
Waters was arrested on Wednesday, November 20 and charged with felony failure to stop a motor vehicle when an officer signals.
Her bond was set at $5,000.
