TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Mississippi State and Ole Miss have a better idea about what it will take to earn a spot in the College World Series.

The NCAA announced the brackets in its 64-team baseball tournament Monday, and for the Rebels, the trip will begin by hosting a regional.

Ole Miss will open the double elimination regional in Oxford against Jacksonville State Friday at 7 p.m. Washington and Georgia Tech will play in the 3 p.m. game Friday.

The Bulldogs will open play Friday at 1 p.m. in its double elimination regional against San Diego State in Lafayette, Louisiana. The host of that regional, Louisiana-Lafayette, will play Friday at 6 p.m. against Jackson State, the third team from the Magnolia State to earn a spot in the tournament.

If Ole Miss and Mississippi State can win their regionals, they would face each other in Oxford in a best of three series for a spot in the College World Series.
