OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- The head of security at Ole Miss said parking had to be shut down on campus around three-and-a-half hours before the kickoff of Saturday's football game against Texas.
He also said the Ole Miss-Texas crowd was the largest one he personally had ever seen on the Oxford campus.
"We cut vehicular traffic entering campus at 4:30," said Chief Calvin Sellers. "There was just no place for them to go. We let cars in. All they were doing was riding around looking for parking, and there is no parking."
The chief did not have an exact number of parking spaces on campus, but he said it easily runs in to the thousands.
