OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Oxford Police Department is investigating an early morning armed robbery and a commercial burglary.

According to investigators, early Friday morning, officers responded to the Shell Gas Mart on Highway 6 West.

The clerk told officers a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun demanded money from the cash register.

The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Oxford Police were also dispatched to a commercial burglary at Shipley Donuts on South Lamar Boulevard, where authorities say someone entered the building through the rear exit door and took money from the cash drawer.

The Oxford Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding either of these crimes to please contact Crime Stoppers at 234–TIPS (234–8497).
