OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Washington Post recently ranked the Oxford High School as the most challenging high school in Mississippi.
School officials say this marks the school's fourth year on the publication's "America's Most Challenging High Schools" list.
The list reflects numbers of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school divided by the total number of graduating seniors in a given year.
Officials say Oxford High School's score for the year was at 1.731, earning the school top rank in the state and among the top nine percent of public high schools nationwide.
Principal Mike Martin says 16 Advanced Placement courses are offered at the high school. He also noted the high school has the highest ACT scores in the state.
