ABBEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- The search continues for the driver of a car who ran from the scene of a fatal accident in Lafayette County Friday morning.
A Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson says the accident happened around 6 a.m. on Highway 7 near the Tallahatchie River Bridge just north of Abbeville.
Authorities say Samuel Spraberry, 22, was traveling north in a Toyota Corolla when he was rear-ended by a Ford Taurus driven by a hispanic man.
The impact caused the Corolla to burst into flames.
The driver of the other can ran from the scene on foot.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the Mississippi Highway Patrol Crash Team and the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
