OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- Students, faculty and staff, along with Lafayette High School fans will gather to see the match-up between Lafayette High Commodores and Shannon High Raiders.

This year will be a little different.

A “Red Out” will take place to bring awareness to heart disease, the number one killer of all Americans.

During the game LHS fans will honor and remember loved ones while helping to fight heart disease and stroke.

LHS fans, students and community members are encouraged to purchase and wear an American Heart Association “Rock the Beat” shirt to school and to the game in honor of loved ones.

“Rock the Beat” t-shirts are available at the school

The “Red Out” will celebrate the lives of family and friends lost to cardiovascular disease while making a difference by helping to save others.

All proceeds go to the American Heart Association and will help to fund research and education.
