OXFORD, Miss. (AP) _ The public service and political career of former state Rep. Bill Miles of Fulton will be commemorated April 29 at the J.D. Williams Library at the University of Mississippi.
The program will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Faulkner Room.
Former House Speaker Billy McCoy and state Rep. Steve Holland will reminisce about their former colleague.
The archives will showcase several vintage campaign commercials produced by the Bill Miles Associates firm for north Mississippi candidates.
Leigh McWhite, UM's political papers archivist, says the collection includes documents, photographs and recordings on the campaigns of several north Mississippi candidates as well as Miles's own files from his 12 years in the Legislature. The collection includes diaries that Miles kept while it was in session.
