JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency says survivors of the April tornadoes who have already received temporary housing assistance through FEMA may be eligible for additional assistance.

FEMA reports those survivors were sent a "Declaration for Continuing Need for Rental Assistance" letter in case additional assistance was needed. The letter contains a form survivors can fill out and mail to FEMA in order to apply for the aid.

Along with the form, residents are asked to send FEMA verifications of pre-disaster and current income and expenses applicable to their households. FEMA also asks for a copy of their landlord's contact information and a copy of their lease.

FEMA says all families are expected to return to their homes once they are repaired or relocate to affordable housing without the agency's assistance as soon as possible.

For more information on the temporary rental assistance, contact FEMA at 800-621-3362.

The deadline to register for federal disaster assistance is Monday, June 30, 2014.
