Organization searches for suspect after dog shot, killed

GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Officials are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a person responsible for shooting and killing a dog in Grenada.

In Defense of Animals and Grenada resident Benji Hayward are offering the $800 reward after Hayward's Great Pyrenees dog was killed close to his home on Moose Lodge Road.

Doll Stanley, director of Hope Animal Sanctuary in Grenada, says the organization has received multiple reports of animals shot in the area.

Stanley says Hayward's dog was killed sometime between March 10, when the dog was missing, and March 16, when its body was discovered.
