One wounded in Grenada shooting

GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Grenada police responded to the scene of a shooting Wednesday night.

Police say they heard shots fired near Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard around 9 p.m.

At the scene, police found the shooting victim Ricky Lester, 52, and his brother.

Lester was responsive and told police he was talking in front of his home with his brother when an unidentified suspect or suspects fired shots.

A police say a search in the area did not lead to the arrest of any suspects.

Lester was later transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada and later flown by helicopter to the UMMC in Jackson for multiple gunshot wounds.
