GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues its investigation into a Friday traffic accident that killed a Tennessee man and sent two people to the hospital.
An MHP spokesperson says the accident happened on Interstate 55 around 2 p.m. three miles south of Grenada.
Troopers say a vehicle driven by Karen Williams, 56, of Oakland, Tennessee was traveling south on the interstate when she attempted to pass another vehicle.
Williams' SUV struck the guardrail, went airborne, and landed on Carrollton-Grenada Road.
Williams and Kristina Fluckner, 29, were transported to University Medical Center in Jackson with serious injuries.
Thomas Williams, 61, of Oakland, Tennessee was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
