GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- A man wanted in the murder of a woman in Grenada Wednesday morning is being held on a $1 million bond.

Capt. George Douglas says James Williams, 33, was formally charged this morning in the death of Candice Davis, 33.

Davis body was found in an apartment on Main Street Wednesday morning.

Douglas says Grenada police developed Williams as a suspect and discovered a warrant had been issued for his arrest on unrelated charges in Akron, Ohio.

He says they apprehended Williams in Memphis shortly after midnight with the help of U. S. Marshals.

Williams is currently being held by Memphis authorities pending his extradition to Grenada.
