GRENADA, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has closed its driver's license station in Grenada.
An MDPS spokesperson says the decision was based on budget cuts and the condition of the current building.
He says the facility was built in the 1940's and had strutural problems, including a leaky roof, that made it hard for MDPS to continue putting
equipment in the building.
MDPS is working with Grenada County supervisors to find another possible location to reopen the facility.
For now, officials say residents will need to use offices in Greenwood and Batesville.
You can also renew your license on the MDPS website.
