MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WTVA) -- Four road projects in Franklin County and three in Lamar County were among 302 awarded funding Monday through the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program.
The ATRIP funding was announced by Governor Robert Bentley.
The projects in Franklin County total $1.8 million and include:
The replacement of a bridge on County Road 22 over Mack Branch and to resurface Country Road 22 from McAfee Road to Highway 187.
The resurfacing of Golden Road from Highway 24 to the Mississippi state line and the replacement of a bridge culvert.
The construction of turn lanes for the Hodges Equestrian Trails at Cap West Memorial Park.
The resurface of Madison Street and intersection improvements at Highway 43 and Lagrange Street in Russellville.
The projects in Lamar County total $4.15 million and include:
The resurface of County Road 35 from Highway 17 to the Marion/Lamar County line.
The resurface of County Road 49 from County Road 36 to County Road 16.
The resurface of County Road 49 from County Road 30 to County Road 18.
The counties will have to provide matching funds for the projects.
It marks the seccond year the state has handed out ATRIP funding.
