Police await identification on body found

HACKLEBURG, Ala. (WTVA) — Police in Hackleburg are waiting for a positive identification on a body found over the weekend.

The discovery was made Sunday morning while people were searching for 40-year-old Brettley Wayne Burelson, who has been missing since Friday.

Assistant Police Chief Euel Turner said the body turned up around 10:30 a.m. near a trailer on Park Road where the man was staying.

The body was sent off for an autopsy.
