PHIL CAMPBELL, Ala. (AP) _ Authorities say they've recovered the body of a swimmer who went missing after jumping from a rock overlooking Bates Landing at the Bear Creek Reservoir.

Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said the body of 18-year-old Isaac Edward Linzer was located Monday afternoon. He says the body was found about 15 feet away from the rock area where Linzer jumped in Sunday evening.

Oliver said the man and some family members were jumping from the rock when the man jumped in and never resurfaced Sunday afternoon.

Bates Landing is about three to four miles south of Phil Campbell, almost at the Marion County line.

Oliver said the area is a popular spot where swimmers enjoy jumping from rocks into the water.
