Health officials investigate salmonella outbreak

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (WTVA) -- The Alabama Department of Public Health is looking into an outbreak of salmonella in Franklin County.

Officials confirm three persons have tested positive for the foodborne illness.

Assistant State Health Officer Dr. Karen Landers says nine additional cases are being investigated.

Health officials are also working to determine a possible common source for the salmonella outbreak.
