RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (WTVA/WAFF) -- An Alabama judge has dismissed the charged filed against a former Vina school teacher charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

WAFF TV in Huntsville reports the ruling last week was issued after the prosecution said family, school officials, and law enforcement agreed to drop the charges against Kimberly Bynum, 31, of Russellville.

Bynum was arrested in June of 2011 and charged with having a relationship with a 17-year-old student at the school.

Authorities say the two did not engage in sexual activity on campus, but both admitted it was going on to investigators.

Bynum has since married the former student, who is now 19-years-old.
