West Point man pleads guilty to federal drug charges

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- A West Point man has pleaded guilty to federal charges he attempted to distribute a controlled substance containing cocaine.

Timothy Spraggins, 20, entered the plea during a hearing Wednesday afternoon in federal court in Oxford.

A grand jury handed down a four-count indictment accusing Spraggins of attempting to distribute the drugs on four occassions between March 7 and July 14, 2011.

The indictment says the offenses occured  in Clay, Chickasaw and Monroe County.

Spraggins entered a plea to one count in the indictment.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
