WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - Wednesday was the final day of a month long fundraiser to help fight breast cancer.

Employees of North Mississippi Medical Center and the general public placed bids on items of interest.

There were various items donated this year including a pair of shoes worn by a Mississippi State University football player which were signed by head coach Dan Mullen.

All money raised benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and every dollar stays in Clay County.

"Those that can't afford to have mammograms can apply for this grant and receive funds to help," said Anne Commer, community outreach coordinator.

The fundraiser is held each year by the Radiology Department at the hospital.
