WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA)--  West Point Police say a man is behind bars after allegedly shooting a man in the stomach.

Thursday night investigators say they were dispatched to an address in an area of the city called “Seitz Subdivision.”

Investigators say when they arrived, a 19-year-old male was suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

A preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation occurred inside a residence located at 1391 Seitz Street in which several shots were fired.

Evidence collected at the scene suggests that at least two weapons were fired multiple times.

Two weapons were recovered at the scene as well as numerous shell casings.

Johnny Walker, 21, of 607 East Morrow Street of West Point was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

A bond amount has not been set. Walker also has two outstanding bench warrants for traffic violations and is being held on those old charges as well.
