WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- Navistar leaders informed workers Thursday morning that the company has made the difficult decision to idle its West Point manufacturing facility.
According to Corporate Communications Manager of Navistar, Lauren McFarland, Navistar is not closing the plant.
The sequester, along with the pending draw down of operations in Afghanistan, has led to a depleted order board, which required the company to make the decision to suspend production at the West Point facility.
The last day for production and for most workers at the facility is Friday, July 5.
