WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Clay County man has died as the result of a Christmas Day accident with homemade fireworks.
Sheriff Eddie Scott says Ralph "Bubba" Elliot, 60, died of injuries suffered when an improvised firework exploded.
Scott say the accident happened around 10 p.m. at Elliot's home on Highway 46 in western Clay County.
He says the bomb squad and ATF were called to the scene.
Elliot's body has been sent to Jackson for an autopsy.
The case remains under investigation.
