Man arrested in Starkville robbery case

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Starkville police say a West Point man has been arrested for his involvement in a robbery that left one person injured.

Depriest Gray, 28, faces charges of armed robbery, burglary and kidnapping after a homeowner walked into a burglary-in-progress on Wednesday.

Police say the homeowner entered his own residence on Old West Point Road to find Gray inside his home. Gray then held the man at gunpoint, tied him up and robbed him.

The victim received minor injuries in the incident.

Police say Gray's bond was set at $75,000.

He is currently being held at the Clay County Jail and has a hold placed on him with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

The Starkville Police Department, Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Department of Corrections in West Point worked on the case together.
