WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- A section of downtown West Point is getting a make over of sorts.
A local artist is painting a mural on a wall located at the corner of South Division Street and Main Street.
The mural is called "Wash Day." The setting shows a storm coming in with clothes hanging on a line.
It features five colors of exterior paint, and is designed to help spruce up the downtown in order to make it more colorful for potential new businesses.
"Well, what I like them to see is how we care about our downtown. West Point just needs a little splash of color and a fresh coat of paint to liven things up," said artist Deborah Mansfield.
"We think if we just help them find some ways to get their businesses more inviting to the public that they would have more business coming in," said Kathy Dyess, Main Street Design committee member.
The mural is expected to be completed sometime later this week.
