WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- A federal judge has signed off on an agreement between the family of a man injured in a car wreck and  the city of West Point.

Natalie Stafford sued the city after her son, Richard Stafford, was seriously injured in a traffic accident in January 2010.

Court documents say she claims her son was ordered to drive away from a residence following a night of drinking by West Point police officers responding to a complaint about a disturbance.

The city denies officers told him to drive away.

Earlier this year, a federal judge ruled their were "disputes of material fact" and the case should go to trial.

On Thursday, the judge approved an agreement between Natalie Stafford and the city.
