WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two Clay County inmates were charged with possession of contraband in a correctional facility Wednesday.

Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott says Miranda Brooks, 21, and Mario Gill, 35, were charged after cell phones were found in their possessions.

Mississippi law says it's illegal for an inmate to possess cell phones or cell phone components within a facility.

Scott stated the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Department at 662-494-2896.
