WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) — Construction on a new animal clinic is underway in West Point.

The facility on the corner of West Broad Street and Washington Street will feature a boarding facility and an agility course for the animals.

It will also feature a cat boarding area with an aquarium and an outdoor area to watch birds.

Plans call for flat screen televisions in the boarding area to help relax the animals.

The clinic expects to see more than the typical pet.

"We have all these people living in apartments that want to have pets, so we're getting a lot more exotic pets in our families," said Karen Emerson, a veterinarian.

The clinic is expected to open sometime in June.
