WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- Clay County authorities say an inmate who escaped the jail in June has been captured in Anderson, Indiana.

Marquis Boyd, 23, was detained by the U.S. Marshal's Service after a short car chase and a short foot chase.

Boyd, who was in jail on three counts of armed robbery, is awaiting extradition back to Clay County.

The sheriff's department says this was not Boyd's first escape.

In July 2013, he escaped the Clay County Detention Center but was taken back into custody the same day at the home of a family member in West Point.
