WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- The City of West Point has issued a boil water notice for some customers east of Railroad Road.

The Mississippi State Department of Health was notified by city officials Friday of the need to issue the boil water advisory.

The notice affects 350 customers east of Wiley Trailer Park and Railroad Road.

City officials say a loss of pressure due to breaks in the water line resulted in the need to issue the advisory.

Residents in the affected area are encouraged to boil their water for at least one minute before drinking.

The notice remains in effect until testing shows the water is safe to drink.
