WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) -- Meet Luezarah Robinson.
She is the life force behind the We Care Committee.
"This has been a blessing. I get to meet new people. I get to see people and see them little kids smile when they leave here. That's enough for me to continue," Committee Director Luezarah Robinson said.
She and volunteers continue to distribute food, medicine and other items to those in need.
"It means a lot to me to help others-the ones in need and that are unfortunate," volunteer Jennifer Bilbo said.
What began as a small effort in Louisville, Mississippi at the Truth Christian Center is now grown in size with assistance from the House of Life Church in West Point and the Feed the Children organization.
All those who qualify can receive food, medicine and even candy.
"I have three grandkids at the house with me and I know it's going to be a great blessing for the Christmas holidays," Levester Elliot said.
"This time of year it's better to give than to receive and I'm just thankful for receiving this. It's really a blessing," Willie McFarland said.
"It just helps out a whole lot. I"m just glad," Betty Roberson said.
"It's a highly blessing, highly blessing and a great blessing from God and I thank him for it," Fay Bell said.
Robinson says they begin each food and supply drive with prayer.
