TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- 4-County Electric Power Association is warning customers in its service area about a telephone scam.

Utility officials say the scammers are using techology that allows them to imitate or fake the cooperative's caller ID information.

They says the caller asks for a payment from the person and requests banking or personal information.

4-County officials say they never contact members by phone asking for payments or any type of sensative financial or personal information.

If you believe you have been contacted by one of these scammers, please notify your local law enforcement.
