MABEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- The fire chief in the town of Maben has resigned.
Justin Collins notified the city of his decision Tuesday evening.
Collins has served in the post for the last year and a half.
The Maben Volunteer Fire Department is funded by Oktibbeha County but overseen by the town.
Collins received a small salary for serving as chief.
A meeting is scheduled Wednesday morning to discuss the naming of an interim chief.
