ACKERMAN, Miss. (WTVA) -- How about a free filling, extraction or cleaning?

That's the offer for the sixth year in a row at an event called "Dentistry from the Heart."

The Mitchell Dental Clinic in Ackerman offers free dental work to 150 patients 18 years or older on the one-day event.

Area residents lined up to receive some much-needed work and clinic employees were all too glad to give it.

"It's just our way of giving back to the community that's supported us so well over the years," Office Manager Amanda Clark said.

"This is my second year here and I like it so well I will be back next year, too," patient Janice Harris said.

The clinic has treated 600 patients for free over the years.

Those services amount to $200,000.
