OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - An Ackerman police officer was arrested Monday.

Terry Glen Gazaway is charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. The indictment states Gazaway knowingly and intentionally distributed a substance containing Alprazolam and a substance containing Hydrocodone.

The indictment reports the sales happened on two different dates in February.

If convicted, Gazaway faces up to 40 years in prison, up to $2 million in fines and ineligibility for federal benefits for up to 10 years after conviction.

Gazaway was released Monday on a $30,000 unsecured bond.
