HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) — A judge has issued a verdict in the DUI trial of Okolona's assistant police chief.

Judge Earnest Cunningham has found Romonia Robertson guilty of DUI, guilty of disorderly conduct and not guilty of possession of a controlled substance.

Cunningham ordered Robertson to pay a $600 fine plus court costs.

The case stems from a traffic stop on Highway 32 in Van Vleet last December when the Mississippi Highway Patrol said Robertson was driving 77 miles an hour in 55 mile-an-hour zone.

Robertson testified during the one-day trial she had taken five medications that day.
