HOULKA, Miss. (WTVA) -- A teenager was carried to a Tupelo hospital after suffering serious injuries in a traffic accident in Chickasaw County Tuesday afternoon.
A Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson says the teenager, from Fulton, was driving on Highway 32 when she apparently ran a stop sign at the Highway 15 intersection in Old Houlka around 3 p.m.
Her car was hit by an MDOT 18-wheeler hauling an asphalt paver driven by Thomas Gray, 50, of Water Valley.
The car was knocked into another lane and collided with an SUV driven by Demetrice Dockery, 49, of Cordova, Tennesseee.
The teenager was transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
The drivers of the other two vehicles and a passenger in the MDOT truck, Bernarda Sandridge, 53, of Sardis, were not seriously injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
