CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- One teenager has died and two others remain hospitalized after an apparent camper fire early Saturday morning in Chickasaw County.

Chief Deputy James Myers said his office was notified at approximately 4 a.m. Saturday to a fire that erupted inside a camper on County Road 92/Arbor Grove Road.

Myers said three teenagers -- two 16-year-old males and a 14-year-old male -- were brought into the emergency room at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston with severe burns.

The names have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

All three were airlifted to a hospital in Jackson shortly after arriving, Myers said.

Chickasaw County Coroner Andy Harmon said a 16 year old died upon arrival in Jackson.

Myers said one teen remains in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon, but he expects one to be able to talk enough in the coming days to help investigators answer questions about what caused the fire.

Harmon said this is the second fire death in the county in the last thirty days.
