OKOLONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Okolona School Board has selected a Tunica educator as its choice to lead the district.
On Monday, the board offered the superintendent's post to Dexter Green.
Green has worked as an educator for 23 years and worked in several school districts.
Board members say they have confidence in Green to take lead the district as it moves out of state conservatorship.
Officials say if Green is allowed to get out of his contract with the Tunica school district, he will begin work on April 1.
Dr. Jerry Wood was originally offered the post, but turned it down after discussing it with his family.
