OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Marshall County man has pleaded guilty to federal charges in the investigation of a cocaine and marijuana distribution network in north Mississippi.

Denoris Howell, 30, of Waterford pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

A federal indictment accuses Howell and nine others of moving drugs into Lee and Chickasaw County.

Authorities say the group was working together to expand the network of customers in the effort to obtain a large amount of money.

Howell will be sentenced at a later date.
