ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- Three people have been sentenced for their role in an effort to move large quantities of drugs in north Mississippi.
A federal court judge handed down the sentences to Cedric Cotton, Clifton Williams and Constean Ford.
Cotton received a 78 months in prison and three years probation after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Cotton was stopped by authorities in 2011 in Union County with nearly 44 pounds of the drug in his vehicle.
Authorities say he met another man in Arkansas to pick up the narcotics.
Williams was sentenced to 84 months and five years probation.
Constean Ford received a 14 month sentence and three years probation.
The sentences are part of an investigation into the delivery of narcotics in Chickasaw and Monroe County.
