Man pleads guilty in federal drug case

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- An Illinois man has pleaded guilty to his role in a conspirary to bring drugs into Lee and Chickasaw County.

Brandon Demario Wells, 24, of Decatur, Illinois entered the guilty plea to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance during a hearing in U. S. District Court in Oxford on Wednesday.

Wells was among 10 peopel indicted earlier this year for attempting to establish an illegal drug distribution network involving cocaine and marijuana.

Authorities say the group was working together to expand the network of customers in the effort to obtain a large amount of money.

Wells will be sentence at a later date.
