HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) -- An autopsy could provide more details on the death of a Chickasaw County man found dead in his home on Monday afternoon.
Chickasaw County Chief Deputy Jim Meyers tells WTVA.com the body of Ray Bevills, 76, was discovered by Houston police at the home on Old Highway 8 inside the city limits.
Meyers says officers went to check on Bevills after receiving a call he hadn't been heard from in a couple of days.
He says the home was locked and officers forced their way in.
Meyers says there were signs of a struggle inside the home and they are treating it as a homicide.
He says Bevills was last seen Saturday night.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Department, the Houston Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are investigating the homicide.
